Rangers supporters appear to be completely unfazed by the statement Celtic released on Friday afternoon that confirmed the away allocation at Celtic Park has been cut to 800 for the upcoming derby match on September 2nd. The move comes after the Gers announced that the entire Broomloan Road end at Ibrox would no longer be used for away supporters in the fixture due to unprecedented season ticket demand. The arrival of Steven Gerrard ensured record-breaking ticket numbers, with the club feeling it necessary to prioritise them first. Many feel that’s a completely fair enough move, especially considering that most are tired of thousands of their lot coming to Ibrox to give their team a boost on the pitch. Plenty are mocking the Hoops for taking a moral stand on the issue, believing they are either being hypocritical or simply taking a big huff. These fans took to Twitter to share their thoughts… I sincerely hope Rangers don’t attend any meeting or discussion. The decision is made and the fans support it so nowt to discuss or negotiate. Statement should be made by club “thanks for the critique celtic, but, so what! https://t.co/BgSWj1dTfl — Rob (@rob_goldie) July 28, 2018 Dear Celtic. We have no interest in visiting the Theatre of Shame. Yours, a Bear. ???? — Cameron EBT Calder (@cccammy1) July 27, 2018 "We will at all times be guided by the interests of our own supporters and the reputation of Scottish football.” Fuck me, that will be a first. ???? — Churchill (@Rangers_co_uk) July 27, 2018 Mind that time Celtic cut our ticket allocation to under 1,000 and then blamed it on a Wet Wet Wet concert in 1997 ? Because they sure as shit don’t. The brass neck of that mob is astounding… — SDF (@GoodCopBabcock) July 27, 2018 The message has to be and remain undebatable from Rangers, we will act and do as we please we are bigger and stronger than they wish to imagine. We will not meet or negotiate with animals — Benjamen Beattie (@BenjaminBeattie) July 27, 2018 Nursery stuff? They’ve came out in a big huff because we cut their allocation. Rangers have sold 45k season tickets. Why would we knock back our own fans to accommodate them? — Stevie (@StevieC_27) July 28, 2018 If @RangersFC are forced into talks with @spfl & @CelticFC around ticked allocation any deal should include like for like location within both stadiums. Why should 1 set of fans have unrestricted views while others don’t. The old Celtic Park had a Rangers end not a corner — Bear from the North (@Northernger) July 29, 2018 Celtic moaning that us cutting their allocation has ruined the old firm game, thought there was no old firm? Thought we were a new team with no trophies? Thought we were sevco? #fuckup — Christopher Cumming (@CCumming12) July 28, 2018 Right so let me get this right, Celtic fans are moaning about us cutting ticket allocation. But said nothing when there own team cut there own fans allocation and instead fired up huge banners because Rangers were not in the league. Weird bunch — TheBrownShoesOfIbrox (@TheBrownShoes72) July 28, 2018 What do you make of the ticket allocation drama? Were Rangers right to initially reduce Celtic’s allocation? Let us know in the comments…
