After the eighth anniversary of Thomson’s move to Middlesbrough was noted by a Rangers fan account on Twitter, several Boro fans tried to ridicule him. Light Blues supporters were quick to jump to his defence before Thomson eventually hit back with his own response. One Middlesbrough fan replied to a Rangers supporter, saying: “You are abit of a dummy to be fair. “Kevin Thomson is w***. Scottish football is w***. It’s a fact. “Imagine an away day to Falkirk. And a capacity crowd of 5k. Dreadful.” Thomson replied to this, claiming he’d played in front of crowds at the Riverside that were comparable to those seen at reserve football. He tweeted: “Clown!! played pre season friendlies with bigger crowds at the teds than I did at boro!!! “Like playing ressies at the riverside!!” RELATED STORIES McFLY GUY Rangers fans tease Dave King with Back to the Future tweets after statement gaffe IBROX CLEAR-OUT Rangers terminate Forrester’s contract as attacker leaves by mutual consent COURT FIGHT King breaks his silence on Rangers’ latest battle with Ashley’s Sports Direct TELLTALES Gers chief Dave King slams ‘supporters of other clubs’ for takeover panel woes HEALTH FIGHT David Hagen hailed for raising awareness of MND after revealing diagnosis 'Help’ Desperate search for Rangers fan who vanished in Macedonia after Shkupi game Many Rangers fans loved the comeback while some Middlesbrough supporters tried to defend the club’s alleged low attendances at that particular time.
