GORDON DALZIEL has blasted Rangers’ treatment of Lee Wallace. We told at the weekend how Wallace – stripped of the club captaincy by Steven Gerrard – could be used as a makeweight in any deal with Hearts for Kyle Lafferty. Wallace’s future is up in the air at IbroxKeith Campbell - The Sun Glasgow It comes as he continues to contest a four-week fine for an alleged spat with former boss Graeme Murty while also fighting for his future. The former Jambos defender became an Ibrox idol by remaining with Rangers following their demotion to the fourth tier of Scottish football. Speaking on Clyde1 Superscoreboard, ex-Gers striker Dalziel said: “I don’t agree at all with it. “After the Celtic game with the Murty thing, he’s having to defend himself. Lafferty is believed to be keen on a Rangers returnKenny Ramsay - The Sun Glasgow “I just think that’s incredible. “He’s been put out now and basically told he’s got no future. “Players have got to look after themselves. You can’t have all this loyalty to clubs nowadays. “It’s a short career and you’ve got to earn as much money as you can. “You’ve got a family, bills and mortgages like everybody else.” Dalziel also took aim at Gers fans who are against Lafferty’s return. The Northern Ireland striker left in controversial circumstances following Gers’ financial troubles, refusing to transfer his contract over to Charles Green’s Newco in 2012. Dalziel is not happy with how Wallace has been treatedKenny Ramsay - The Sun Glasgow Dalziel said: “It was six years ago. Get over it – it’s finished. “At the end of the day, Rangers need all the players they can possibly get. “If the manager’s looked at him and thought, ‘He’ll do for me,’ he’ll come back. “If he scores goals, nobody will mention it. “I think the Rangers fans have got to get over this and look forward. “It’s a new era with the new manager, the high-profile name that came in.
