Rangers and Celtic have an interesting history. This is neither the time nor the place to go into that historically – I have other things to do and it would take too long – but it’s safe to say it’s one of the more colourful rivalries in football. Sometimes it’s good-natured, sometimes not but it’s a rivalry that just simple ‘is’. Some would argue that’s truer than ever following the dawn of the internet and social media and factoring in our slide down the Scottish tiers in recent times, it’s fair to say they have become accustomed to having few challengers. That probably explains the obsession now to be fair, as whilst we certainly aren’t back in the sense history dictates, we’re on our way and with every positive announcement coming out of Ibrox these days, social media goes into a frenzy with the easy go-to digs that can be thrown at the club. It’s almost like there’s a concern? If we don’t matter anymore – why can’t they resist? The point is probably proven by the story that let to this wibble. It’s not the story that’s of interest here, my interest is in seeing so many Celtic fans take the time to comment on a player we choose not to progress a deal for.
