With Rangers taking a 1-0 advantage in the Qualifying Second Round first leg tie with NK Osijek last night, some new faces were on show for the club as they made their competitive bows. Liverpool loan duo Ryan Kent and Ovi Ejaria made their full club debuts following their arrivals in Thursday’s game. Kent made his first appearance for us following his switch, whilst Ejaria made his maiden full bow having featured as a substitute in each of the previous Europa League clashes against FC Shkupi. Whilst the win was all important and Alfredo Morelos gave us just that with his first-half goal, there were plenty of things for fans to discuss post game and it wasn’t limited to the fact the hosts really gave us a game on the day or their delight at the defensive solidity shown as bits and pieces came together in terms of a growing team understanding. It was far from a classic and had fans on the edge of their sofas for the wrong reasons maybe but the spirit was applauded and the vast majority seemed to take it for what it was…another step. ????????wasn’t nervous at all lol — davie (@davieb82) July 26, 2018 Doing ok so far , still along way from were he & us want to be but he’s sorted out biggest problem from last season already . #defence — davie (@davieb82) July 26, 2018 That’s a Rangers of old performance tonight; some areas for improvement but well organised and thoroughly professional. To come away from Croatia with a lead and clean sheet is absolutely outstanding and exceeded my expectations. Well done Rangers ???????? — Douglas Kinnear (@Dougiek85) July 26, 2018 Good result tonight but should have played Candeias down the right, not convinced Kent or Ejaria brought anything to the team — Maverick_1969 (@Walter_Mather) July 26, 2018 Impressed with coulibaly, Kent and ejaria tonight. Flanagan and tav weren’t the best though ????⚪️???? — luke (@southernbear90) July 26, 2018 Kent= industrious and confident but poor decision making in final 3rd. Big Lass= doing big lass things. Snapped into tackles, decent touch, faded 2nd half Ejaria= what I expected from an inexperienced youngster. Struggled for any meaningful ball. Impact player off bench for me — Brownie (@OzRNGR) July 26, 2018 Coulibaly played well tonight. Needs more time with the team though. Kent had the desire. Tried to hard on occasions. He’ll settle down. Ejaria had a good game too. He clossed down the ball with intent. As did all the team. El Buffalo was outstanding. McGregor, Goldson also. — Lien Micheal Mols Naelcm (@LienNaelcm) July 26, 2018 3/ Kent – good performance, direct, defensively hard working too Ejaria – worked hard, good on ball Alfie – really good performance, good goal, good hold up play, worked his socks off — #DoYourJob (@gordyb1872) July 27, 2018 Midfield played well. Kent looks good the big guy in the middle looks good. Cousiably or however you spell his name. Other boy from Liverpool played decent. Rangers teams of recent years wouldn’t have held onto that result. Now home and hopefully finish the tie off. — Kenny (@kenny0785) July 26, 2018 Seen ppl give Kent a 4 on here baffles me the wee man worked his socks off. Gonna do us a turn with his work rate and tracking back — KennyRfc (@kenny1872_rfc) July 26, 2018 ????????????Brilliant Rangers. Morelos outstanding. Kent looks good and a clean sheet. Play up the Glasgow Rangers #WATP — Iain Glen (@glen1873) July 26, 2018 Morelos was back to his best tonight and Ryan Kent looks a player! #Rangers — John (@neeson_1) July 26, 2018 Great performance from Rangers tonight. Looks like we are no longer scared of corners & McGregor will be worth an extra 10 points a season. Coulibaly & Clark Kent look class. Goldson, Katic & Flanagan need to work on their passing though.. — K918 (@minniedogg) July 26, 2018 Ryan Kent looks a player, thought we didn’t get him on ball nearly enough last night when he was in so much space but he’s not afraid to do ugly stuff. Tracked back and made a few tackles. Looks like McKay but with heart. — Chris McLaughlin (@Chr1sMcLaughlin) July 27, 2018 Ejaria relly impressed me with his physicality in midfield tonight. Looks like the type of player to be bullied off the ball easily but he’s shown that he’s got a bit of strength to him. — big mad andy???????????????????????? (@vlxdtheimpalah) July 26, 2018 Well played Ovie Ejaria that was a good performance — FiveStar (@BritishSeahawk) July 26, 2018 Not seen anything to impress me yet — Will Robbo (@wullieboy78) July 26, 2018 Ejaria can’t pass forward, felt like he was scared tonight — Joe ???? (@1872joe) July 26, 2018 Great performance tonight! @Ejaria was motm easy — Mr. Nice Guy (@bigpurk14) July 26, 2018
