Gerrard wasn’t happy with Rangers’ first half performanceWillie Vass “We weren’t compact, we were disjointed, we didn’t pass the ball well enough and that’s the side of Rangers that I don’t want to see. “Second half, completely different team. “We were organised, we were compact, we were getting close to the ball, we kept the ball and we were aggressive. “We owned the pitch, we owned the stadium and we looked like a proper football team. We blew Wigan away within 15 minutes of doing it properly, basically. “The message to the team is don’t wait for me for a bollocking at half-time. Do it yourselves before the game and start the game properly.” Gerrard also revealed that the team have been working hard on set-pieces in their pre-season training.
