‘Sit down and cry’ – Fans of star’s former club are finding it painful to watch him at Rangers

Brighton & Hove Albion supporters are finding it tough to watch Connor Goldson’s impressive performances for Rangers, ruing the fact that they let move to Ibrox so cheaply this summer. The powerful defender has helped his new side to three consecutive clean sheets in European competition and is poised to continue that form heading into the new Scottish Premiership season. Goldson signed last month for a reported fee of around £3m, a figure which is already looking like a bargain. With the likes of David Bates and Bruno Alves leaving after last season, the club badly needed a defender to come in and make a first-team impact and he’s certainly done that. Brighton fans recognise they’re a team on the up and there might have not been a place in Goldson in the squad next season, but they’re missing him all the same.
