Rangers fans don’t appear to be especially keen on signing Bolton Wanderers defender Mark Beevers this summer, after he was reported to be a potential transfer alternative to Millwall man Jake Cooper. The Express reported that the Gers were consdiering a move for the experienced English Championship defender after having multiple bids rejected for Cooper. The paper say he would be a much cheaper option considering he has less than a year left on his current contract. Despite signing Connor Goldson and Nikola Katic at centre-back, Steven Gerrard is still in need of some reinforcements after the departures of Bruno Alves and David Bates, with Ross McCrorie also moving permanently into midfield. Beevers ticks plenty of boxes but supporters aren’t inspired by the news that Rangers are interested with 64% of respondents to a poll we published earlier this week believing that the club shouldn’t make a move for him.
