Rangers have not opened any sort of negotiations with Bordeaux after rejecting a £3.5million bid from Bordeaux for £7.5million-rated star striker Alfredo Morelos, according to the Daily Record. $bp(“Brid_32517474”, {“id”:“13259”,“width”:“16”,“height”:“9”,“video”:“274134”}); The newspaper claim that despite reports from the likes of Sky Sports claiming that talks between the two clubs were being held, the Gers simply rebuffed their advances and did not hold any further discussions with the French side. It is stated that the Light Blues will not be open to negotiations unless their £7.5million asking price is met by a prospective buyer, which would result in a profit of over 700 per cent having arrived for just £1million back in the summer of 2017. Opinion Rangers would be mad to lose their star striker with so little time to try and find an adequate replacement. Yes, Morelos has not been the most consistent of hitmen but at £1million he has done exceptionally well up top. He has really upped his game this season and looks to be thriving off the coaching under Steven Gerrard, getting into the right positions and being on hand to put the ball in the back of the net with confidence. Is he worth £7.5million? Probably not, but that just shows how much the Gers rate him and his potential, not to mention his importance to the team. He will not be going unless someone is willing to pay through the nose for his signature, which would then give Gerrard the necessary funds to go out and source some quality talent to take his place in the first team at Ibrox.
