TEAMtalk can confirm that West Brom have made bid for James Tavernier – but Rangers have told them they want £7million. Tavernier has been made captain under Gers boss Steven Gerrard, who is desperate to keep the former Newcastle United man. Brighton & Hove Albion have been chasing him all summer, but now West Brom have come in with an offer believed to be worth £3million. Rangers have rejected West Brom’s opening bid, although sources close to Ibrox believe it will not take much more to land Tavernier. It remains to be seen if Brighton will make a late move and rival the Baggies for his signature. Swansea, Everton and Burnley were all believed to be chasing the Bradford-born player in May. Darren Moore has already added Kyle Bartley, Tosin Adarabioyo and Conor Townsend to his defence this summer, after losing Jonny Evans to Leicester and allowing Gareth McAuley to leave at the end of his contract. var VUUKLE_EMOTE_SIZE = “”; VUUKLE_EMOTE_IFRAME = “” var EMOTE_TEXT = [“HAPPY”,“INDIFFERENT”,“AMUSED”,“EXCITED”,“ANGRY”,“SAD”] The post EXCLUSIVE: Rangers place price tag on Tavernier after rejecting WBA bid appeared first on teamtalk.com.
