Rangers produced a professional away performance against Maribor on Thursday night to progress to the play-off round of the UEFA Europa League. Steven Gerrard’s side have yet to be defeated so far this season and have now kept three clean sheets in a row away from home in European competition, an excellent achievement no matter the competition. A big part of the new solidity in the side has been the midfield raising their game to offer more support to the defensive line, with Ryan Jack leading the charge in recent matches much to the delight of his new manager.
