Rangers have endured a thrilling start to the new season under the guidance of Steven Gerrard, who has seen his side enjoy a fine run. The Gers extended their unbeaten run in all competitions to nine games following Sunday’s 3-1 victory over Kilmarnock in the League Cup at Rugby Park. Gerrard gave a start to Wes Foderingham in the victory, who has dropped down the pecking order behind Allan McGregor in the battle for the first-choice jersey at the club, and fans were pleased with what they witnessed. The 27-year-old featured 33 times in the league last season for Rangers but the arrival of 36-year-old McGregor has meant the former Swindon Town stopper has had to be patient waiting for his opportunities this term.
