Rangers boss Steven Gerrard tells Andy Halliday he has a huge part to play at Ibrox


STEVEN GERRARD has handed Andy Halliday a huge boost after telling him he has a huge part to play at Rangers. The midfielder came off the bench to help 10-man Gers see off St Mirren at Ibrox yesterday afternoon. Andy Halliday in action for RangersWillie Vass Halliday endured a tough time at the club last season, spending the first six months on loan at Azerbaijani club Gabala. But Gerrard admitted he has been impressed with Halliday’s work rate since taking charge of Rangers earlier this summer. And he admitted that the 26-year-old still has a big part to play at the club. He said: “Andy has been superb since the first day I met him. “When you come to a club you hear different things about players and sometimes it’s not always positive.
