Gerrard is looking at 26-year-old enforcer who would be perfect alternative to Jake Cooper

Rangers are considering a move for the towering Blackpool defender Curtis Tilt if they fail to land Millwall’s Jake Cooper, according to The Scottish Sun. What’s the story? New Rangers boss Steven Gerrard has had a busy summer, with nine new faces in the squad so far. One area of the team Gerrard is still keen to improve is central defence and the Gers have reportedly tabled a £3million bid for Millwall’s Jake Cooper. As a backup, Rangers are now lining up Blackpool’s 26-year-old Curtis Tilt and Ipswich Town have already made a £550,000 bid for the powerhouse, but the Tangerines are holding out for £1million according to the report. Is he worth it? Jake Cooper should still remain Rangers’ first choice as he is younger but still has much more experience, playing in the Championship as opposed to League One. However, as a cheaper option, Tilt could do the job for Steven Gerrard and is a no-nonsense defender who learnt his craft in the lower leagues of English football.
