Rangers set for cash windfall as Martyn Waghorn closes in on £7m move to Middlesbrough


MIDDLESBROUGH are set to complete a £7 million swoop for Ipswich’s former Rangers striker Martyn Waghorn. Boro boss Tony Pulis moved for Waghorn last night after Patrick Bamford joined English Championship rivals Leeds for a similar fee. That was Waghorn’s only campaign with the Tractor Boys after a bargain £200,000 move from Rangers. It’s understood Gers will receive a cut of the fee banked by the Tractormen – believed to be around ten per cent. Ipswich are set to replace Waghorn with Accrington Stanley’s £1.5 million-rated front man Kayden Jackson. England’s second tier kicks off on Friday night with new Derby boss Frank Lampard taking charge for the first time at Reading. And rivals are desperate to bring in new blood ahead of the new season.
