RANGERS announced in April that they had agreed a three-year deal with kit manufacturers Hummel ahead of Steven Gerrard’s first season in charge. Gers had been sponsored by sports giants Puma since 2013 and last year ended their long-running agreement with Mike Ashley’s Sports Direct – allowing fans to buy strips again. Hummel will provide THREE Kits per season However, with that deal ending, the Ibrox side will now have their kits designed by the Danish brand for the next three seasons. Images of the new kit were finally released earlier this week. But Gers suffered a setback when Mike Ashley’s Sports Direct were granted an interim injunction to stop sales of the Hummel strips. When will Rangers wear the kits for the first time? Gerrard’s men wore the new home kit for the first time in Friday night’s friendly with Bury. It boasts the traditional royal blue colour with side panels carrying four iconic Hummel chevrons on each side. It’s accompanied by white shorts and black and red socks. When do the new strips go on sale? It’s unclear when the home and away kits will be available for fans to buy. And the uncertainty has increased after it emerged today that the Rangers vs Sports Direct battle was heading for the High Court. Fans expected to be able to get their hands on the new ‘mandarin orange and royal blue’ third kit in OCTOBER. It’s sure to be a top seller after fans clamoured for the return of the design – last worn by Alex McLeish’s Treble-winning side in 2002/03 Most Read SOU BLEW IT Souness launches blistering attack on Alli, Lingard and England’s style of play WRIGHT STUFFED Roy Keane slaps down Ian Wright in TV bust-up after England’s World Cup exit ON THE LINE Caulker fighting for Dundee future after being sent home from training camp FOOTBRAWL’S COMING HOME Men and women trade blows in street after England World Cup defeat AMBO SMASHER Woman who jumped on ambulance in England World Cup celebrations is SCOTTISH Gers swoop Rangers tracking World Cup somersault defender Milad Mohammadi Rangers managing director Stewart Robertson said: “We are delighted to showcase our new strips for next season from Hummel and we are sure our supporters will love their design. “We will have more news for supporters on the dates the kits will be available for sale soon. “Everyone involved in the process is pulling out all the stops with a view to having them available for sale by the start of the new Ladbrokes Premiership season.” STRIP ROW Rangers vs Mike Ashley’s Sports Direct court case resumes TODAY after retail giant granted interim injunction to stop new Hummel kit sales How much will the kits be?
