Rangers fans are begging for the club to sign NK Osijek captain Borna Barisic following an impressive display in the Europa League qualifying tie. Rangers progressed to the next round thanks to a 2-1 aggregate win, but things got nervy last night following a late equaliser courtesy of Barisic via a deflection from Connor Goldson. The versatile player is comfortable playing at left-back and left-midfield and was a constant menace down the Rangers’ right flank throughout the game. The Croatian international, who is valued at £1.8million on Transfermarkt, would certainly provide competition for places at left-back and could form a strong partnership alongside compatriot Nikola Katic. Gerrard has made a raft of signings this summer and it appears the one position he is still looking to fill is a left-sided centre-back so Barisic is unlikely to be on his radar at the moment.
